Ann's love of riding was spurred by her mother, Lish Garnett. As a child Ann was coached by Lish and long time friend, judge, and stewart, Wayne Eubank. Ann competed the famous small pony Farnely Nimble under the guidance of Pam Baker, a VHSA Hall of Fame member and acclaimed hunter-jumper instructor. Ann's dreams of competing among the top ranked equestrians in the country continued to come true, riding with Claiborne Bishop of The Barracks as well as course desighner and hunter instructor Glenn Moody. Ann reached the pinnacle with Don Stewart of the prestigious and Champion producing Don Stewart Stables.
Ann has spent the majority of her equestrian career competing at the highest level of Hunter competitions. As a junior and amateur rider she has competed under the tutelage of top professionals. Ann has achieved years of experience competing and taking top prizes at The Washington International Horse Show, Pennsylvania National Horse Show, The Devon Horse Show and The National Horse Show. In 2007, Ann and her two Amateur-Owner horses, Armani and What'd I Say earned triple-honors as the United States Equestrian Federation's Amateur-Owner Grand Champion, Amateur-Owner 18-35 Champion and Res.
